Social and Emotional Wellbeing is of high importance at Smithfield Public School. We strive to work in consultation with students, parents and other professionals to ensure that all students and families emotional and social wellbeing are being represented.
Buddy System
The Support Unit has developed a social skills building program called the Buddy Program. The program aims to support inclusion of all students, build social skills, positive relationships and fair play for our students. This program consists of 30 student volunteers who during their lunch and recess time interact with students in the support unit. Interactions can include structured play, eating together or having a friendly chat.
