Last Friday, the 27th of November, Smithfield Public School held an assembly to celebrate the outstanding achievements of some of it's staff and students. Teachers, students and families, both past and present, gathered to honour the recipients who had achieved some amazing results in a number of different fields. The assembly was a triumphant success and was concluded by a performance by the Smithfield School Choir.
The award winners were as follows:
Maria Siwak - awarded the highest level of teacher accreditation, that of lead teacher - a feat completed by less than 30 teachers across NSW.
Lynne Fox - awarded the NSW Excellent Service to School Sport Award
Angelina Talevski - winner of the Regional Public Speaking Award
Krystyn Baker - winner of the Regional Sports Female Award
Jessica Luu - winner of the prestigious Regional Art Award
Steffi Tran, Nathaanki Karunaivel, Jasmine Tran, Nicolette Talevski & Justin Nguyen - mathematicians who competed in the 2015 Maths Olympiad are received perfect scores every time.
Note: a regional award involves a competition involving 220 schools.
As you can see the level of success experienced by Smithfield teachers and students in a variety of areas is truly amazing. We are a very proud school community!
